Nissan’s Sunderland plant, one of the most productive car factories in Europe, is essentially two plants in one. That’s according to Colin Lawther, Vice President of Engineering. One line handles Qashqai and Leaf production, working on a three-shift operation with overtime on weekends. It produces around 300,000 vehicles a year.
