The full European Parliament has voted almost unanimously to change rules for truck cabs that could save hundreds of lives and reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Every year 15% of all fatal collisions in Europe - around 4,200 deaths - involve trucks, and the recent vote marks the beginning of the end for Europe’s brick-shaped trucks, which have been dubbed dangerous and inefficient.
