Gov’t support in 2017 essential for the future of S. Africa’s auto industry

2017 will be an important year for South Africa’s automotive industry, with the arrival of a new support policy framework that will replace the current Automotive Production and Development Plan (APDP), which completes its course in 2020.

The local supply base will hope to benefit from new arrangements. Renai Moothilal is the recently appointed executive of the National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (NAACAM), and he believes that
