Harman strikes two software deals to accelerate connected car developments

In a recent bid to expand its cloud, mobile and analytics capabilities in software services, Harman has acquired Symphony Teleca and Israel-based Red Bend Software

The convergence of the automotive and software industries is being spurred by the Internet of Things (IoT), which is advancing automotive technology from connected to intelligent systems. For this reason, OEMs and suppliers are increasingly investing in software for cars and as a result, software solutions and services are becoming key to their continued success.

In a recent bid to expand its cloud, mobile and analytics capabilities in software services, audio, visual, infotainment company Harman, which already owns JBL, Harman Kardon and Infinity, has acquired Symphony Teleca (STC), a privately held global software services company, and Israel-based Red Bend Software, a company that specialises in mobile software management.
