Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced plans for the development of a manufacturing plant in the city of Nitra, Slovakia. The announcement comes in the wake of speculation that the company had been looking to invest in a Central or Eastern European state, narrowing down possible sites to locations in Slovakia, a Eurozone member, and non-Eurozone member Poland. Other contenders included Hungary and a strong bid from Mexico. The company had also reportedly been considering an investment in the US.
