Risky but buzzworthy – Evoque drops its top

Will the new niche model generate more buzz than sales?

A convertible variant of the popular Range Rover Evoque is coming soon and a sales launch has been confirmed for spring 2016. The idea of a drop top version has been floating around for a few years, with a Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. At the time, Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern had observed that "the Evoque lends itself beautifully to the idea of a convertible." The concept was intended to gauge public opinion, which was obviously supportive enough to make the idea viable.
