Indian truck manufacturer Ashok Leyland has taken a 26% stake in UK bus manufacturer Optare plc. Ashok Leyland's US$7.5m investment has been made to secure a long-term strategic partnership and exclusive manufacturing agreement.
Founded in 1985, Optare's product range includes 'Low Carbon' low-floor, mid-size buses, city buses and low-floor double-decker buses,
