Concentric AB, a supplier of flow control and fluid power systems and components for commercial vehicles, has secured a multi-year contract to supply water pumps to a major truck manufacturer.
The water pumps will be used on an engine to be launched in line with Euro VI / US EPA 13 legislation. Euro VI standards are scheduled to come into effect on 1 January 2014.
Concentric will start production of these pumps late in Q4 2012. Continuing through 2013, it will ramp-up to full volumes. The supplier expects revenue from this contract to be in the region of SEK 74m (US$11.26m). This figure is based on predicted volumes of 60,000 engines per year.
The supplier says the pump is a bespoke design, developed for the truck’s 13-litre engine. This unit features integrated thermostats, integrated water filtration and a single-piece injection-moulded impeller.
“Concentric will provide high-technology oil, water and fuel transfer pumps to three new customers. On a number of these projects the revolutionary Concentric Variable Flow technology will be utilised for both oil pump and water pump applications,” said Concentric AB President and Chief Executive Officer, David Woolley.
A leading supplier of fuel systems has also awarded Concentric a multi-year contract for fuel transfer pumps, for a new heavy truck, in line with Euro VI / US EPA 13 legislation.
Production of these fuel transfer pumps will gain begin in the fourth quarter of this year, and will ramp-up to full volumes continuing through 2013. Concentric expects annual revenue through this contract to be around SEK 21m, based on annual volume of 55,000 fuel systems.
The unit which will feature in the truck engine’s high pressure common rail fuel system, is an external gear pump with integrated pressure regulating valve, prime valve and high pressure safety valve.
