An ageing population could enable the auto industry to compete with Tokyo’s efficient public transport, writes Jack Hunsley

As one of the world’s largest cities, Tokyo has become accustomed to moving with the times. With the Greater Tokyo Area alone boasting a population of more than 38 million, the city hosts one of the most populous metropolitan areas on the planet. This fact alone provides a great deal of clarity as to the challenge of keeping this city’s inhabitants on the move.
