CASE (connected, autonomous, shared, electric) trends in automotive are resulting in vehicles that are increasingly technologically complex. In fact, McKinsey & Co estimates that software complexity rose by a factor of four between 2011 and 2021. Unsurprisingly, the analyst found the change most apparent in large modules (infotainment, advanced driver-assistance systems, etc.) and recommended that OEMs strive for greater efficiency wherever possible.
