Many in the automotive industry are convinced of the potential for autonomous vehicles (AVs) to deliver improved safety and efficiency for riders. To that end, US$30bn has been invested in AV sensors and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology since 2010, according to McKinsey’s 2020 Future of Mobility report.
