In February 2017, Ford announced that it would invest US$1bn over five years into artificial intelligence (AI) start-up, Argo AI. The OEM had previously shared plans to launch a Level 4 autonomous vehicle in 2021, and Chief Executive Mark Fields says Ford has made “significant progress.”
