ATA MC&E 2014: a product perspective

The annual American Trucking Associations (ATA) convention marks an interesting point in the calendar. Held during early October, it provides an opportunity both for a review of the first three quarters of the year passed, as well as a means to gauge sentiment for the year ahead. It is very much a gathering of the clan in terms of the US trucking fleets, and, whereas in previous years the lacklustre state of the freight market allowed the event to be subtitled “Where an industry goes to complain”, ATA 2014 was held at a time when the North American trading environment is probably as good as it has been since the heady days of 2006.
