Automotive players ‘set up permanent shop’ at tech shows

More vehicle manufacturers and suppliers are turning up to tech-orientated events to showcase their latest products and unveil plans for the future. By Michael Nash

CES - the annual consumer electronics show in Las Vegas - is fast becoming a new home for vehicle manufacturers and automotive component suppliers alike. Around nine major OEMs and 11 Tier 1 suppliers were present at the event in 2017, showing off their latest connected car and autonomous vehicle technologies. Similarly, OEMs and suppliers got in on the action at the 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, albeit to a lesser extent than at CES.
