Autonomous cars need V2X communication, argues NXP

Chip-maker NXP and connectivity specialist Harman have partnered to bring vehicle-to-everything connectivity to market in 2016. By Freddie Holmes

At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Harman demonstrated its Life-Enhancing Intelligent Vehicle Solution (LIVS) connected car platform as part of the Rinspeed Ʃtos Concept vehicle. This platform is based on NXP’s RoadLINK technology, which enables vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, and aims to improve road safety by alerting drivers to critical traffic situations in advance.
