Nissan has championed the future for electric vehicles (EVs), suggesting that the Leaf will play an integral part in the company’s on-going commitment for cutting emissions. With a new prototype vehicle based on the best-selling EV, the OEM has implied that the future of transport could hinge on a marriage between electrification and autonomous driving.

The main goal of this marriage is to achieve zero emissions and zero accidents, according to Richard Candler, Director of Advanced Product Planning, Nissan Europe.
