In little over 18 months since its creation, Zenuity has become a leader in the world of autonomous transportation. With locations in Detroit, Santa Clara, Munich, Gothenburg and Shanghai, the joint venture established by Volvo and Autoliv was created with the initial plan to become an industry leader in developing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving safety systems, all for the benefit of developing active safety systems that are flexible and robust.
The aim was to bring these ADAS products to market for 2019 and, in the past year of operation, the company has certainly made an impact. Partnerships with companies such as Volvo, Geely, Nvidia, Ericsson and Dell have opened many doors for the company, but as with all those investing in autonomous driving technology, the company has also stressed the need for substantial investment in cyber security measures, as Zenuity’s Chief Executive, Dennis Nobelius, and Head of IT Architecture and Cybersecurity, David Lindgren explained to Automotive World.
