Biometrics offers one stop shop for both driver and cargo safety

With the number of smart systems growing daily, the need for secure authentication is stronger than ever, writes Megan Lampinen

Merging biometrics and connectivity could prove the key in addressing safety and security challenges for commercial vehicle (CV) fleet operators. Digital software specialist SoftServe has developed a system that incorporates real-time processing and biometric authentication to prevent unauthorised vehicle use as well as monitor the health of CV drivers and the state of merchandise. The new system, BioLock, emerged following discussions with trucking logistics company Overhaul.
