Most smartphone owners will already use biometrics in their daily life to some degree, even if the term itself is not well known. Regardless, the use of fingerprint scanners or facial recognition to unlock both the phone and the secured apps within it is now commonplace. Automotive players are looking to mimic this technology’s use in future connected vehicles.
