BMW boosts localisation rates in India to optimise costs

BMW India has taken on seven new suppliers and in doing so, has raised localisation levels at the facility in Chennai to more than 50%

Last year, German premium car manufacturer BMW sold a record number of vehicles worldwide. In fact, this was the fourth consecutive year of record-high sales for the OEM. In all, a total of 2,117,965 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars were sold last year, up 7.9%.
