CAVForth launches world’s first autonomous bus service 

The CAVForth autonomous bus project promises to normalise driverless technology to fleet operators and a cautious public. By Stewart Burnett 

While the technology underpinning autonomous driving systems (ADS) has made significant advancements in recent years, it still suffers from a lack of trust. A November 2022 study by Lloyd’s Register Foundation indicated that only 27% of people worldwide would feel safe in a driverless car. However, a recent pilot programme for autonomous vehicle (AV) public transport in the UK is hoping to win some of that trust back.
