China’s thirst for EVs leaves no room for diesel

With a government set on becoming the poster child for electric vehicles and one that is not afraid to ban production of high-emission cars, China offers no hope for diesel sales. By Freddie Holmes

Recent developments in China suggest that diesel cars will play little, if any, part in China’s growth in coming years. Many stakeholders in diesel had once looked to the world’s largest new vehicle market for exponential growth, but strict emissions targets and infamous levels of air pollution have extinguished any hope for gasoline and diesel.
