Reductions in the price of crude oil and, consequently, of regular diesel fuel have, in the minds of commercial vehicle operators at least, drawn attention away from alternative fuels. But positive announcements in recent months, from Daimler, Scania and most recently Volvo, indicate that so-called second-generation biodiesel remains a focus of interest, especially among environmentalists and city authorities with vehicle emission concerns.
