COMMENT: Geneva 2018, from the show floor

As far as motor shows go, Geneva isn’t the oldest but it’s one of the best established. The current 88^th edition bears little resemblance to those initial expositions and today’s focus is as much on services and experience as it is on the nuts and bolts of car design.

Geneva 2018 comes at a time of unprecedented industry change – as all the executives are keen to emphasise – and that change comes in a handful of forms.

One of the more revolutionary of those forms is flying cars, and the tone here is generally one of interest and potential, according to comments from top executives at SEAT, Volkswagen and Daimler. However, more near-term manifestations include flexible mobility options and clean emissions.
