The recent announcement that the UK has launched three projects to investigate the use of automated vehicles in the context of urban mobility received widespread coverage in the media. More than £19m (US$29.3m) is to be invested by Government organisation, Innovate UK, supported by matched investment by commercial organisations participating in the three consortia, including the GATEway project in Greenwich, London.
