Connected cars lacking in isolated functionality to protect against hackers

Security researchers in recent years have shown that it is entirely possible for hackers to take control of someone's car and access critical vehicle functions such as brakes and steering.

Most recently, a pair of hackers discovered an exploit in Uconnect-enabled Fiat Chrysler cars that can allow an attacker to take control of the vehicle.
