Charging an electric vehicle (EV) is a new consideration for the automotive industry, and while much consideration is given to the battery and the charging station, there is little discussion about how the link between the two can be developed.
The cable is a vital element in facilitating the transfer of energy between the charging station and the car, and cannot be ignored if rapid charge aspirations are to be met.
To this end, Swiss supplier Huber+Suhner has developed a ‘cooled’ charging cable that can facilitate an 80% charge in less than 15 minutes, even for EVs with larger battery packs
