Could generative engineering disrupt vehicle design?

Modern vehicles are increasingly complex and require long design phases, but AI solutions could deliver substantial time reductions. By Stewart Burnett

From the market research stage through to manufacture and assembly, the development of a new vehicle can prove lengthy. For example, Tesla first filed a trademark for the Model Y in 2013 and teased a concept design of the vehicle based on the Model 3 architecture in 2015. However, it was not until March 2019 that the vehicle was fully revealed, with first deliveries taking place 12 months later.
