CV lightweighting quest drives aluminium wheel expansion

For today’s trucking fleets, wheels play a key role in the quest to maximise payload and improve fuel efficiency. Segment demand for forged aluminium wheels is on the rise, sending some suppliers into expansion mode. Arconic is currently expanding its production in Hungary with a new wheel manufacturing plant at the Arconic-Köfém site. The US$130m investment will allow the supplier to eventually double its European wheel capacity.
