The North American freight market appears to be flattening out in terms of demand for dry van and reefer capacity, while falling in terms of demand for flatbed equipment; this is the scenario that can be inferred from recent data published by DAT Solutions for North American freight rates and capacity points in September 2015.

DAT data is sourced both from the company’s Load Boards – which placed 110 million loads during 2014 – and its Rateview system, which offers an effective real time tracking system for spot freight rates.
