Don’t panic: China struggles don’t chip NXP’s outlook

NXP’s Chief Executive is confident that a dip in premium vehicle production will not present any significant issues to business

Despite a contraction in vehicle production and changing consumer spending trends, China still represents an enticing opportunity for software suppliers.

“Unless a strong turnaround is logged in the second half of the year, 2015 is likely to be a downbeat year for automakers and dealers,” notes Lian Hoon Lim, Managing Director of AlixPartners.

However, speaking at the Deutsche Bank Technology Brokers Conference in Las Vegas on 16 September 2015, Rick Clemmer, Chief Executive of NXP, discussed how this downward trend does not present any imminent threat to the chip supplier’s operations in the market.
