Entrance music – consortium conjures noise for EVs and hybrids

Getting the warning sound right could be an important enabler for EVs in the future

The safety issue surrounding the lack of noise that electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) produce has been a cause of concern for the segments. Many technologies have been trialled in the past, but a new system is being launched that could feature in the next-generation of Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP), designed by ten consortium members with Nissan at the helm.
