Europe sobers up on autonomy as ICE bans loom

With money tight and emissions regulations to meet, the autonomous vehicle is falling further down the continent’s to-do list. By Jack Hunsley

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, so perhaps the industry can forgive Volvo’s optimism in 2014 that it could deliver 100 self-driving SUVs to families in Gothenburg, Sweden by 2019; if solely as the automaker was not alone in its bravado.
