FHI’s plans to assemble Subaru cars in China on the backburner

With new vehicle sales growth rates declining in China, Subaru has decided against setting up local assembly operations just now

Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), the manufacturer of the Subaru brand of cars, has seen record sales in China recently, but growth is starting to slow. Last calendar year, the brand accounted for sales of 55,000 units in China, translating into a year-on-year decline of 2%.
