As of August 2016, around 12 million commercial vehicles (CVs) were registered to operate on public roads across the US, and according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), these drivers collectively log approximately 300 billion miles a year – roughly 390,000 trips to the moon and back. People need things delivered, and it is clear that trucks remain the most efficient way of transporting them across the country.
