Ford unafraid to splash the cash on lightweighting

The OEM has announced it will use Gorilla Glass in the 2017 GT and aluminium in the F-Series Super Truck line-up

The OEM has announced it will roll out Corning’s Gorilla Glass technology with the 2017 Ford GT, production of which begins in late 2016. The hybrid material achieves weight savings of 32% compared with regular glass, and will be used in the supercar’s windshield and rear engine cover.
