Ford’s big bet starts paying off

Ford's hefty investment in the F-150 is finally starting to pay off, but management sees much work - and risk - ahead. By Megan Lampinen

Ford made solid progress in 2015 but there is still much work to be done. That was the message from management in the latest earnings call for analysts, in which company Chief Executive Mark Fields explained how last year's accomplishments position the company further along its corporate transformation.

“Last year on this call we promised a breakthrough year in 2015 and we delivered," he told analysts. For this year, he added: "We will continue to build on our strengths and accelerate our pace of progress even further, while transforming Ford into both an auto and a mobility company and creating value for all of our stakeholders."
