German OEMs look to black boxes for autonomous vehicles

The possibility of a fully autonomous car edges ever closer. While the technology is already being demonstrated by vehicle manufacturers and tech companies like Google, car manufacturers are now beginning to consider the legislation, security, and liability issues. German OEMs are looking into the possibility of using black box data recorders – similar to those used in aircraft – in autonomous vehicles.
