Ghosn: “Completely different objectives” for autonomous vs driverless

Nissan's CEO talks to media in Tokyo about how autonomous technology should empower the driver, not leave him behind

Nissan has started the first on-road tests of a Leaf-based prototype vehicle with piloted drive technology, the latest development in its autonomous ambitions. The prototype will operate in real traffic conditions on both the highway and city/urban roads. Findings from these tests will support the OEM's efforts to offer increasingly autonomous systems in its vehicles.
