The size and weight of long-haul heavy-duty trucks make these vehicles some of the most challenging to decarbonise. In fact, in some geographies, projections suggest that the internal combustion engine (ICE) will be an extremely common sight until 2050. Not all markets can afford to wait this long, however.
That understanding is forcing all of today’s major truckmakers to rethink their internal compositions and product portfolios.
