Growth to return to South America’s new vehicle market

Economies will recover in 2016, but short term decline is inevitable, according to new research

Demand for light vehicles (LV) in South America’s new vehicle market is expected to fall in 2015 by 16-17% to 4.2 million units, according to new research published by Automotive World. This will see demand decrease in the region for the second year running. 4.98 million units were sold in 2014, 10% down on 2013’s sales record of 5.56million units. Individual markets experiencing decline include Brazil and Argentina, the two biggest in the region.
