“The vehicle is not a cellphone on wheels,” says Magna

Magna’s Don Walker believes the car of the future is not just about electronics. By Freddie Holmes

Compared to number of Tier 1s that condensed their portfolios during the course of 2015, Magna is one of the most diverse auto suppliers going.

However, speaking at the 2016 Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference in Detroit, Chief Executive Don Walker explained that despite the supplier’s reputation for having many irons in the fire, Magna too is fine-tuning its portfolio to some degree. “We continue to modify our product portfolio based on what we believe will be in the car of the future,” he said.
