The US and EU are both important markets in the race to develop an autonomous vehicle (AV). The US is home to household names including Google, GM and Tesla, all of which run AV programmes. Players in the EU may not have grabbed quite as many headlines worldwide, but the bloc is home to numerous trials such as Navya’s autonomous shuttles, the city of Malaga’s autonomous bus, and commercial vehicle developers such as Einride.
