It is no secret that Tier 1 suppliers have played a pivotal role in the development of new vehicles for decades, but how might the push for autonomous, shared and electric (CASE) mobility solutions change things?
All things considered, suppliers are likely to be tasked with serving the needs of not just vehicle manufacturers, but also fleet operators. Whether those vehicles are cars, shuttles or even electric scooters is another matter altogether. “The future of mobility will not rely on just owning a car, but rather serving customers who are using different vehicles whenever and wherever they need them,” explained Axel Schmidt, Managing Director and Global Automotive Lead at Accenture.
