The idea of a vehicle being able to understand whether a driver is happy or sad is a concept that may sound like the stuff of science fiction. Today, however, it is becoming an increasingly popular market to play in.
As autonomous vehicles (AVs) continue to develop at rapid rates, the focus in the automotive industry seems to be expanding beyond the core AV technologies, such as LiDAR and radar, into new fringe developments that could aid later stages of autonomy. This is where the concept of using artificial intelligence (AI) to read human emotion sits.
