ICE optimisation may not be enough for future US emissions regulations

At a time when vehicle electrification is becoming a mainstream concept—if not in practice, then certainly in theory—it is easy to forget that automakers building cars for the US have achieved much through the ongoing optimisation of standard internal combustions engines (ICE).
