For many years, the Brazilian municipality of Sao Bernardo do Campo was at the centre of the country’s automotive industry, and whilst automakers and suppliers have since spread out across the regions, it remains home to several manufacturers including Daimler Trucks. Opened in 1956, the automaker's plant assembles the Mercedes-Benz Accelo, Atego, Axor and Actros models, as well as gearboxes, axles, engines and bus chassis components.
