Indian gov’t pushes hard for EVs

OEMs in a bind as government stays firm to electrify India's automotive industry by 2030. By Radhe Shyam

Just as poisonous smog – heavily-laden with particulate matter – and pollution engulf top cities in northern parts of India, including the capital New Delhi, India’s federal government has made clear to the automotive industry its intentions to curb vehicular pollution: prepare to switch-over to an all-electric fleet by 2030, or prepare to be “bull-dozed”.
