Infiniti’s China ambitions hinge on local production

Infiniti is expanding its China-built line-up from two models to seven, a move that it hopes will allow it to triple sales volumes. By Megan Lampinen

Localisation is at the heart of Infiniti's Chinese ambitions. The luxury brand has been growing solidly in the region, with volumes up 16% last year, but it now wants to triple sales in just five years. To do that, it needs models designed specifically for the Chinese consumer and built in Chinese plants.
