Infrastructure still the major FCEV uptake hurdle

A lack of stations and insufficient hydrogen resources mean FCEVs remain a difficult sell outside of specific locations. By Jack Hunsley

The hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) is a compelling offering on paper. Emitting only water vapour, and boasting impressive driving range and fossil fuel vehicle-like refuelling times, FCEVs are an ideal future alternative to diesel- and gasoline-powered machinery for many consumers. However, despite this potential, FCEV uptake to date has been minimal.
